Photo of the Frond/Faded Zap/Black Surf Studio Jacket. I don't like this color version of the jacket but I am really liking the cut, shape, and fit of it a lot.

I like the recent color combo - I think I will like this jacket more if the Frond and Faded Zap switch places. I am hoping to see more new colors of the pacesetters! I am totally obsessed with that skirt and wished I had purchased more last year!!!
LLA, I know you are dealing with taking care of an elderly parent who had a health crisis recently. Just wanted to say that I wish you guys luck and good health (a common Chinese New Year wish - we celebrated this past weekend)! I think it is super that you still manage to keep this blog going considering there are more important things on your mind.
The hood on the jacket looks really poorly made, especially with the green stip that goes up the middle...creating horns. The color-blocking is awful in this color too. Gag.

Has anyone tried the Run: Back on Track Tank? I don't know if I need another flowy top (I already have a couple NLTs), but it's different.

Is the jacket made of luxtreme? the blocking is over the top, if it just had the stripe down the arms that would be cool. They are over doing the Mondrian thing.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piet_Mondrian
@anon 6:56 am - Definitely on trend, it's not too bad but I really love the dune/bleached coral color combo. I just loved all the photos that showed pairing Dune Stills with the bleached coral CRB.
@ anon 9:21 pm - thanks . My dad is in the hospital getting intense in-patient rehabilitation so I have a lot of downtime where I can keep up with the blog. It's a nice distraction, too.
Anon6:17 - I have a back on track from last year. I love it for yoga, especially yin classes. I'm not a fan of it for running though. I find the flowy part swishes too muchabdis a distraction. I stick to swiftlys and CRBs for running instead.
@anon 6:17 am I am 5-3, 110lbs and Size 4 in NLTs. I had previously tried on Run: Back on Track Tank at the store & size 4 fit well, Size 6 was too baggy. I didn't buy it back then and was hoping to get it if it ever comes on sale. I did order it today. It doesn't have as much material hanging out as NLTs, but I would still go with the same size you get for NLT.
OT...I was in a ROOTS in Canda and was SHOCKED at the declining quality!!! T shirts had high polyester content. I saw these French terry sweater dresses. Touched them and then were thin and looked cheaply made. I couldn't justify the price after seeing the poor quality. I suspect this is another Canadian company outsourcing overseas. Touched a few hoodies and they too were thin and felt cheap. Im a Roots fan, but was shocked at how cheap the clothing felt to the touch. Some of the new stuff coming out, was just garbage quality. :( I left very disappointed.... thought I would update you all, since I know some of you, like me, LOVE Roots! :)
I've noticed fake defines in that coral wannabe Flash color with the older style black and red zipper pull and also the black with wee stripe, but the blue color (no picture by the seller is included btw) is a new counterfeit that's a first.
Roots has some stuff that is cheaper and could be considered disposable. For better quality items, which are not cheap, their overall quality is still great. Their sweaters, workout gear, jeans are generally excellent. Their leather goods (esp. handbags) are still awesome and not cheap. I have a black spring/summer dress (from 2012) that is dressier, simple, classic, machine wash, hang dry. Has been worn & washed so many times, is wrinkle free and looks brand new. Indispensable in general and excellent for travel. I also have the Vista Bonded Hoodie (Bordeaux colour) and it is awesome! Quality is superior. This recent purchase was instead of a Scuba Stretch. I have other original Scubas but will never buy the Scuba Stretch.
wmtm - purchased the NL Tank this a.m. in black with the chevron and the Power Up Crop in Inkwell. Already have a pair of those in black (also wmtm). Thick luon and tts. Love getting a deal.
Went to my local LLL in Bellevue and didn't love anything :( I was hoping to snag a frond LS swiftly but they didn't have any. Saw the frond plaid speeds... They were really stiff but didn't seem see through... I almost got them but I didn't love them so I eventually put them down. All of the CRBs were not very soft to me so I didn't get any. They had a lot of flare and inkwell? combos on sale... The reversible jacket mellow lemon and burned yellow was in stock and it is a really nice well made jacket but its short... It was also priced at $148 and online it's $138... Weird... But then again LLL has been playing with prices online... OH, I also saw the daily yoga jacket in pop orange, the quality is EXCELLENT compare to the crap define they put out last summer (pink, pow purple)... It's made in Cambodia but the stitching was sturdy and flawless. I was surprised that it was back to normal, however, I'm not in the market for a new jacket but if you are, the quality is good but I can't speak for the fit.
Luluaddict, you rock. To put bundles of energy into a place that people go to and collaborate and admire, all the time. I know you're there for other people right now and just wanted to say- thank you. I appreciate it.
Whoa, I felt like anon 1:09pm stole my thoughts. I was in roots just after buying some lulu on thursday night and touched the SAME dresses, then looked at the price and thought "where would i wear a communist-coloured thinass dress in the near future!?" weird. I bought an inkwell CRB (not on any website), Running crops in black and a white Run Swiftly tank that I'm returning (waaaay too short, shoulda tried that one on). I loved the dune Still pants but i have a toddler, doh. I bought this all on my xmas gift cards (from returned gifts because again, the shirts/sweaters were too damn short). As for the trend comments, yes, these ARE the trends. It brings more profit to keep up with the trends, but it must be balanced with classic pieces and this is lacking lately. And LLA, hope the pops gets well soon. Love to your family.
Yea Ive been buying ROOTS for YEARS (like 15 years or more) and always loved the quality in the PAST. What I touched yesterday, overall, was cheap and terrible quality! the materials, especially the French terry, was super thin! I wasn't impressed and walked out. Guess it's back to Aritzia and Burberry, I go!
OT - I had a whole bunch of new? stuff on one of my PNs today (Newbury St, Boston) : Rise & Shine pullover (1/4-zip, rulu light), and R&S jacket (yet another running jacket...), Pace skirt...is it possible I missed all of this? My stores never get stuff first! Thinking of you and your fam, LLA - I went through the same thing with my dad a few years back and all I can say is, thank heavens for siblings to share the burden of the ordeal (it's why I kept having babies, so my own kids would have that support!) - I wish you all peace and a speedy recovery.
#1. LLA, I am sending you prayers and positivity :) I know how challenging it is when a parent is sick. Thank you for keeping up with your blog, I'm glad it's a distraction for you; I thoroughly enjoy your efforts, I'm a huge fan :)
#2. Roots' new sweat pants are made in Canada! I just bought black pocket pair and it says made in Canada as opposed to my salt and pepper pair that is made in China. Exact pair but differences. The Canadian made pair is significantly thicker and I don't think it will bag out. Also has a secret pocket with logo that you can wear out of your pants for your phone. It is missing the beavers/red stitching on the drawstring. The China made pair is thin and bags out, doesn't have the secret pocket, but it does have just the beavers on the drawstring. Love them both but am surprised at the differences in thickness. My salt and pepper pair pilled on the inner thigh and I wonder if my black pair will as well.

ooooo, that jacket looks horrid with that color blocking :( And she does NOT look happy to be modeling it!
Surf Studio Jacket in that color combo - no. no. bad. do not like it at all.
woof. lulu, wtf?
omg, the top of the hood in the first picture is awful! it looks like a frog or something
Ick
That jacket.... YIKES ! HORRIBLE !
Herringbone bang buster on the site!!

Anyone know if there will be any skirts coming out in Frond or a yellow color?

With all these bad colour combos as of late, Lulu should now be renamed & called "YU-LU!" (you suck!) LOL
Aww, look at the cute little bunny ears on the hood in the first pic. I mean really.
Actually - it is right on trend! I suppose the question is whether Lulu buyers want to be in on the trend. For reference:

I tried on the pace crop today. Love the detail on the bum. Despise it on the legs, made me feel like I had thunder thighs...
Ladies at LLL disagreed, but it wasn't rocking my socks.
Actually left with nothing this week..
Someone wanted the frond LS swiftly in the comments..
I saw it today it wasn't uploaded, but it is in the scarborough town centre LLL. I'm not into the colour, but it's amusing..
Well said!! I wish your dad a speedy recovery and thanks for keeping up with the blog.
